20 Years of Ephemeral Protection
SAEOS is celebrating 20 years of keeping people safe! It is amazing to think back how we establishing our roots in coffee shops and business centers across the U.S. in 2023. Before smart phones and ubiquitous access to the internet, people entrusted their safety and privacy to the public computers they used to check email, balance their check book, and even file their taxes. These computers were typically riddled with malware and we stepped in to change that with the FIRST zero trust operating model. Before Chromebooks, we were the first Simple And Ephemeral Operating System!
Ephemeral computing is commonplace now, with cloud compute and container adoption, but in 2003, it wasn't even a concept on most architects' radar. Some saw the vast capabilities of ephemerality and asked us to expand into other areas like digital signage, kiosks, and even security operations. You can find SAEOS almost everywhere, in almost every vertical.
Staying true to our core value of keeping people safe, in 2010 we made a major push into the safety of children on the internet. Partnering with other servant leaders in the security industry, we developed our own custom auto-updating web-filtering engine and baked it into SAEOS Kids. Protecting kids from bad URLs and malicious IP addresses as well as web-services that are questionable for young children.
The pandemic of 2020 challenged EVERY aspect of our lives, both at work and at home. SAEOS was ready! We immediately signed up with the Federal Government's pandemic education response program and made SAEOS Kids available for FREE to anyone. We also partnered with multiple enterprises to give new life to their old laptops slated for destruction, by adding the ephemeral SAEOS flash drives to barebones laptops and donating them to school districts, home school groups and moms and dads in need of a secure way for their children to get on the internet.
We didn't stop there!
Hospitals and healthcare workers were thrown into the chaos of the pandemic and it was made worse by the lack of technology available. Care was being provided in places never thought of before, field hospitals in parks, drive through testing in parking lots and vaccination queues in stadiums. All without the wireless and video conferencing solutions needed to communicate over a safe distance. So we created SAEOS Care - the first packaged zero-trust wireless and video conference solution. Hospitals could now leverage old equipment such as laptops, desktops, TVs and monitors to build isolated point-to-point, WIRELESS, video conferencing solutions. Thin client manufacturers such as LG also partnered with us to make deployment even easier.
We will keep going.
Whatever the next challenge is, SAOES will meet it while continuing to stay true to our mission of keeping people safe.
